Track 1: Fundamentals of Judaism, Rabbi Avraham Willig
A comprehensive overview of Judaism’s fundamental concepts, this class gives students the opportunity to encounter elementary ideas and general knowledge about Judaism before moving on to advanced Halacha classes which reference them.
Track 2: Halacha, Rabbis Daniel Schloss, Binyamin Wolff, and Meir Riber
Our core Halacha curriculum begins with Rabbi Daniel Schloss’ thorough treatment of all of the Laws of Shabbos, and continues to two additional levels taught by Rabbis Binyamin Wolff and Meir Riber, who teach the laws of daily living from the classic Chayei Adam.
10:00AM – 1:00PM Gemara: Rabbis Yaakov Thaler, Nachman Elsant, Avraham Willig, Binyamin Wolff, Gil Eisenbach, and Meir Riber
At the heart of our curriculum is our renowned Gemara program, consisting of six different classes, each specially geared to different levels of skills and interests. Our beginning levels introduce novices to the world of Gemara by slowly and deliberately building skills and concepts. As students develop a greater level of comfort with Talmudic text, they move on to higher level classes which also incorporate study of the classic commentaries. Our classes cover a wide range of levels; our beginners Gemara class can often barely read Hebrew, and our highest level students can comfortably read Gemara and commentaries. In fact, we pride ourselves on the fact that the overwhelming majority of our highest-level students have finished entire mesechtos.
12:00PM – 1:00PM
This slot is a time often used by the Gemara Rabbis to supplement the Gemara learning with classes on Chumash and Jewish Philosophy (Hashkafa). One day a week several of the classes join together for a group class on Hashkafa (see enclosed sheet for detailed list of topics). Additionally, once a week each class holds a special session with Rabbi Dovid Rosman, the program Director, during this time.
1:00PM Lunch
Aish prides itself on providing highly nutritious and delicious meals to our students prepared by the famous Chef Herschel.
1:30PM Mincha
In addition to the regular yeshiva Mincha, Aish provides a separate beginners service which allows students to explore tefillah with the support of some of our Rabbis. There is also a daily Sefardic Mincha minyan.
3:00PM – 6:50PM
Our unique afternoon program consists of four 50 minute periods (some classes have double periods). Students are assigned a schedule based on their interests and skill levels. The following classes are available:
Ulpan: Rabbi Chaim Gogek
Our innovative Ulpan program runs on three different levels. Rabbi Chaim Gogek is renowned for his unique ability to impart a thorough knowledge of conversational and biblical Hebrew. Ulpan 1, primarily dealing with basic vocabulary and grammar, is geared toward beginners. Ulpan 2 explores more complex sentence structures and rules of grammar. In Ulpan 3 students are already familiar with modern Hebrew and are taught how to read and understand the Torah on their own based on the tools that they’ve learned in the first two levels.
Navi: Rabbi Dovid Lichtman
Our Navi program has two levels. Rabbi Dovid Lichtman well-known expert in Tanach and biblical archeology, brings Navi to life with his electrifying and informative classes. A licensed tour guide, Rabbi Lichtman also periodically takes our students on Navi Tiyulim where he shows them the actual terrain where different events of Navi occurred.
Mishnayos: Rabbi Moshe Leader
In this class, students study Mishna, developing a wider knowledge of rabbinic concepts and the oral Torah. Rabbi Leader, a world class Torah scholar, enhances the study of Mishna by sharing his wealth of eclectic information with the students. The class moves quickly, completing several masectos a semester.
Chumash B’Iyun: Rabbi Nissan Lifshitz
Students study passages from the Chumash in-depth, developing a greater appreciation for the multi-level richness of Torah learning. They are introduced to many of the classic commentators and learn how to prepare their own divrei Torah on the parsha.
Rambam- Hilchos Talmud Torah: Rabbi Asher Resnick
Rabbi Resnick guides his students through the laws of Talmud Torah from Rambam’s Mishneh Torah. Students are exposed to broader themes of Jewish philosophy while studying from the actual text of the Rambam. Besides the incredible amount of information learned, students enhance their Hebrew vocabulary as they are given several word lists for each passage of the Rambam.
Crash Course in Practical Halacha: Rabbi Avi Elbaz
Rabbi Elbaz, renowned posek and author of several books on Halacha, shares his wide range of knowledge with students enabling the student to have a well rounded exposure to Jewish Law . This class focuses on many laws not covered in the morning Halacha class, such as the laws of Kashrus.
Pirkei Avos B’iyun: Rabbi Moshe Leader
In this powerful class, the life-lessons of Ethics of our Fathers are brought to life. In addition, Rabbi Leader offers a tremendous amount of background to the Rabbis who introduce the lessons in each Mishna of Pirkei Avos, explaining why it was that specific Rabbi who taught this specific lesson.
Aggadata in Shas: Rabbi Nachman Elsant
In this class, Rabbi Elsant takes on some of the most cryptic and mysterious passages in the Talmud, showing students the depth and beauty of the words of chazal and the lessons that one can learn from them.
Gemara B’kiyus: Rabbis Moshe Leader and Meir Riber
An opportunity to increase a student’s breadth of Talmudic knowledge, this class is a guided experience in exposure to areas of Gemara not studied in the morning classes. Besides gaining greater proficiency and comfort with the reading of gemara, students finish an entire Mesechta by the end of the year!
Once a week classes:
Developing Relationships and Preparation for Marriage: Rabbi Dovid Rosman
Drawing on classic and modern Rabbinic sources, this class will give students the tools to build current relationships and prepare to enter the world of marriage with a Torah perspective.
Preparation for Raising Children in a Jewish Home: Rabbi Dovid Rosman
Emphasizing the unique nature of the Jewish home, Rabbi Rosman guides students through the basics of child-raising from the perspective of Judaism.
Practical Halacha in the Workplace: Rabbi Ari Wasserman

The Six Constant Mitzvos: Rabbi Eric Coopersmith

Being Real with Yourself: Rabbi Motty Berger
Rabbi Berger’s inimitable, hard-hitting teaching style educates students on Judaism’s perspective on many hot-button contemporary issues.
8:30PM – 10:30PM Night Seder
Aish’s night seder program facilitates review and supplemental learning for students. Tutors are available to study with students and help them keep up with their learning.
