Intermediate Beis Medrash

Rabbi Rosman:
Rabbi Dovid Rosman is the Director of the Intermediate Beis Medrash Program of Aish HaTorah as well as a Rebbe in the Advanced Beis Medrash Program. He gives classes on various topics, including how to build relationships, preparation for a Jewish marriage, and raising children. He studied in the Kollel of Yeshivas Mir for seven years and learned under the tutelage of Rav Tzvi Kushelefsky for two years, after receiving his B.A. and rabbinical ordination from Yeshiva University. He is also a freelance writer, with articles published in Hamodia and Mishpacha magazines and in the Yated Neeman newspaper. Some of his classes can be found on OU Radio. Rabbi Rosman lives with his wife and family in Ramat Eshkol, Jerusalem.

Rabbi Elsant:
Rabbi Nachman Elsant teaches the first level of Gemara and has an amazing way of bringing students to love Torah and Judaism. In addition, he gives a daily class on agadata, showing the deep lessons which can be learned from these special gemaras. He also organizes our Hashkafa series which prepares our students to be able to explain key concepts of Jewish Philosophy to others. Rabbi Elsant is the Director and visionary behind our program's chesed activities and oversees the monthly IBMP Newsletter. As a trained life coach, he is a valuable resource to help guide his students towards success. During his Yeshiva career he learned in Yeshivat Shaalvim, Mir, Yeshiva University, and Derech HaTalmud. After completing a BA in Computer Science from Yeshiva University, he was in the Wexner Smicha Honors Program and received rabbinic ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. After his marriage he learned in the Kollel of Yeshivas Derech HaTalmud and Aish and was a Rebbe at the NCSY Kollel. Rabbi Elsant currently lives with his wife and family in Ramat Eshkol, Jerusalem.

Rabbi Willig:
Rabbi Avraham Willig is a unique blend of rabbi, lecturer, social worker, and musician. Beloved by his students for his knack for fostering uplifting relationships, Rabbi Willig is known for his warm personality and quick smile. Originally from New York, Rabbi Willig learned in Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavne, completed a Bachelors of Talmudic Law from Ner Israel Rabbinical College, received rabbinic ordination from RIETS at Yeshiva University, and earned his MSW from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University. He taught at Yeshivat Shaarei Mevasseret Zion and was a founding member of the Los Angeles Intercommunity Kollel. Rabbi Willig lives with his family in Ramat Bet Shemesh.

Rabbi Eisenbach:
Rabbi Gil Eisenbach, or ‘Rav Gil’ as he is fondly known to his students, is a fascinating Gemara Rebbe, known to put his heart and soul into each and every student. Moreover, as the Mashgiach Ruchani he is an important figure in the Aish HaTorah tapestry, where among his other jobs he counsels many students and works behind the scenes to make sure the Yeshiva functions smoothly. Rav Gil received a Bachelors of Hebrew Letters from the Israel Torah Research Institute in Jerusalem. He learned in Yeshiva and Kollel in Israel, first at the Israel Torah Research Institute (ITRI) for 7 years, culminating with rabbinic ordination from ITRI, and then in the Boston Kollel in Jerusalem. He lectures at the New England Chassidic Center and the Chayei Yehudis Seminary in Jerusalem. Rabbi Eisenbach lives with his wife and 10 children in Ramat Shlomo, Jerusalem.

Rabbi Schloss:
Rabbi Daniel Schloss was born and raised in Amsterdam, Holland. In 1983 he came to Israel and studied at Yeshivat Aish HaTorah in Jerusalem. Many years later, under the guidance of Rabbi Yitzchak Berkovits, he received rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Avraham Kopshitz and through Yeshivat Aish HaTorah. For almost three decades, he has been teaching practical Jewish Law in Aish Jerusalem and has published several booklets on Jewish law that are being used around the world. Rabbi Schloss is currently Aish HaTorah's Director of Operations. Previous positions held for many years include Director of Finance and Assistant to the Rosh HaYeshiva. Rabbi Schloss lives with his wife and five children in Har Nof, Jerusalem.

Rabbi Leader:
Rabbi Leader teaches a wide range of classes and levels at Aish, managing to make each one profoundly interesting. He serves as both maggid shiur and Rosh Kollel simultaneously. Originally hailing from Manchester, England, Rabbi Leader has seen his fair share of the world, moving from Manchester to Gateshead Talmudical College for Yeshiva Gedola, and on to the Mir in Yerushalayim for Kollel. From there he went on to learn in Heichal HaTorah under the tutelage of Rav Tzvi Kushelefsky and then on to Gibraltar, where he served as the Rosh Kollel. Rabbi Leader ultimately moved back to Yerushalayim to be a Maggid Shiur in Yeshivas Toras Moshe, and there Aish HaTorah finally grabbed him so we can bask in his knowledge as well. He lives with his wife and family in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Rabbi Wolff:
Rabbi Binyomin Wolff teaches a morning halacha and Gemara shiur in the Intermediate Program. In addition, he runs our very successful night seder program, pairing up our students with private tutors. Rabbi Wolff received his BA from Yeshiva University and rabbinic ordination from RIETS. After continuing his learning for another five years in the Mir Yeshiva, he became a rebbe in Yeshivas Derech Etz Chaim in Har Nof, moving after a couple of years to Aish. Rabbi Wolff lives with his wife and family in Shaarei Chesed, Jerusalem.

Rabbi Lichtman:
Rabbi Dovid Lichtman teaches two levels of Navi in the Intermediate Program and is a senior lecturer in Aish's outreach programs. He is famous for his Navi Trips all around the country, bringing the Navi to life. Rabbi Lichtman received his rabbinic ordination from Yeshivas Bircas Reuvain in New York, and has degrees in Comparative Religion and Philosophy from Queens College of the City University of New York. He served as the Orthodox Rabbi of Calgary, Canada from 1987-1992 before making Aliya. Rabbi Lichtman lives with his wife and family in Modiin Illit.

Rabbi Riber:
Rabbi Meir Riber teaches the highest level of the Intermediate Program, encouraging his students to excel and setting tangible goals for them. He is known for the impressive Siyumim towards which he propels his students, and the great satisfaction they feel in their achievements when they get there. Rabbi Riber completed a Bachelors of Talmudic Law from Yeshivas Toras Chaim of Denver. He then learned in the Mir in Yerushalayim, where he attended Rav Asher Arieli’s shiur, continuing on to multiple Chaburas and earning rabbinic ordination in Issur V'Hetar from R' Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. He lives with his wife and family in Ramat Eshkol, Jerusalem.

Rabbi Silinsky:
Rabbi Shmuel Silinsky started out nourishing plants, but to our great advantage he is now nourishing Jewish souls. He is an important lecturer at Discovery, on Aish.com, and in the Executive Learning Center, and an instructor in the Aish HaTorah College of Jewish Studies. Rabbi Silinsky has earned three separate rabbinic ordinations, including one from Rabbi Kulitz z”l, who was Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. He lives with his family in Neve Yaakov, Jerusalem.

Rabbi Thaler:
Rabbi Yaakov Thaler has taught in many different capacities and in a variety of Yeshivas for over 10 years. An active member of his Beitar community, he started a center for teens at risk and helps keep them off the streets. He teaches one of the beginners Gemara levels and is known for his attentiveness to each and every one of his students. Rabbi Thaler has a BA in Accounting and Economics from Queens College and received rabbinic ordination from RIETS. Rabbi Thaler lives with his family in Beitar Illit.

Rabbi Elbaz:
Rabbi Avi Elbaz is Aish HaTorah’s posek, in addition to teaching halacha classes to the beginner level students. Rabbi Elbaz has rabbinic ordination from both HaGaon HaRav Moshe Halberstam z”l of the Eida Chareidis and from Rav Ovadia Yosef. Rabbi Elbaz served as a Rosh Kollel in the Mir, and later in Kollel Ateres Shlomo. His education spans the ocean from Mir NY to Mir Yerushalayim and back again to BMG in Lakewood. When he came back to Israel, he came “just for 2 years, but 19 years later is still here and does not regret it”. Rabbi Elbaz lives with his family in French Hill, Jerusalem.

Rabbi Gogek:
Rabbi Chaim Gogek has been heading the world renowned Aish Ulpan Program for the past 25 years, yet the classes never turn stale! Rabbi Gogek completed his BA at Brandeis University with a major in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies. Two years later he came to study at BMT, where he stayed for 2 years, getting married and making aliya simultaneously. He continued learning in Kollel for three years in a special program called "Meretz" (located in Mevaseret Tzion) receiving rabbinic ordination as well as preparation for teaching in the Israeli school system. Rabbi Gogek and his family then moved to Kiryat Arba, where he taught boys in a very special Talmud Torah. Rabbi Gogek currently lives with his wife and family in Kiryat Moshe, Jerusalem.

Rabbi Wasserman:
Rabbi Ari Wasserman teaches our business in halacha course focusing on a wide range of Jewish issues which come up in the work force. He has published three volumes of his classes which are a mix of halachah, parashat hashavua and commentary on contemporary issues called Hegyonei Haparashah. After high school, Rabbi Wasserman attended Yeshivat Shaalavim. He then went on to receive his undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Following graduation, he returned to Eretz Yisrael for a second year of learning and then went on to attend Harvard Law School. A respected specialist in corporate contracts and mergers, he has worked as an attorney at Sullivan & Cromwell and other law firms. After many years in those positions, he decided to open a private practice in Los Angeles. He lives with his family in the Shaarei Chesed neighborhood of Yerushalayim.

Rabbi Goldvicht:
Rabbi Eitiel Goldwicht is one of the Rabbeim of our post High School program. He previously studied at Yeshivat Kerem BeYavneh and earned his B.S. in Finance from Sy Syms School of Business. He then attended the Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore, Receiving a Masters in Talmudic Law, and continued his education at the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration. Rabbi Eitiel completed the curriculum for Semicha through the Chief Rabbinate of the State of Israel. He is particularly involved with the Israeli contingency of Aish Hatorah, and his many roles in this vital program include speaking to thousands of soldiers who come to visit the kotel, running a Slichos program proceeding Rosh Hashanah, and a heart-warming Chanukah program, targeted to the secular Israeli public. He lives in with his family in the Shaarei Chesed community of Jerusalem.

Rabbi Gavriel Friedman:
Originally from New York, Rabbi Gavriel Friedman has spent the last decade studying and teaching in various Yeshivot throughout Jerusalem. He is currently teaching at Aish HaTorah Jerusalem, where his lectures highlight the entire gamut of Aish programs, including the Discovery Seminar, Jerusalem Fellowships, Executive Learning Center, and more. An up-and–coming star of the Jewish speaking circuit, Rabbi Friedman has lectured in dozens of cities around the globe, including Johannesburg, San Jose(Costa Rica), London, Montreal, and more. He also regularly does Shabbatonim for various groups visiting Israel. Rabbi Friedman’s charisma captivates audiences of all ages and inspires men and women across the Jewish spectrum. His unique ability to present Torah concepts in an intriguing yet entertaining fashion leaves his audiences thirsting for more. Rabbi Friedman currently resides in the French Hill neighborhood of Jerusalem, with his wife and children.

Rabbi Resnick:
Rabbi Asher Resnick teaches the very popular Rambam class and weekly hashkafa class. In addition, he give many hours to learn one on one with students helping them prepare foundation curriculum for them to teach. He is currently the Educational Coordinator of Aish HaTorah's Executive Learning Center, a teacher in the Intermediate Program, and a senior Kiruv training lecturer for Aish HaTorah's Rabbinical Ordination Program. He received rabbinic ordination from Aish HaTorah and the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. Rabbi Resnick has lectured for the Institute of Jewish Legal and Medical Ethics in San Francisco and at the Aish HaTorah branch in New York. He graduated from UCLA with a BA in Psychology, a minor in Mathematics, and certification as a high school math teacher. He lives with his family in Ramat Beit Shemesh.

Rabbi Nechemia Coopersmith:
Rabbi Nechemia Coopersmith teaches a class on the 48 ways to wisdom. He is the chief editor of Aish.com, one of the world's largest Judaism websites. He is the author of ‘Shmooze: A Guide to Thought-Provoking Discussion on Essential Jewish Issues’ – a must-have little book for anyone who loves a good question. Rabbi Coopersmith lives in Jerusalem with his wife and children.

Rabbi Berger:
Rabbi Motty Berger teaches a class titled "The Real You" and helps many students with their most difficult philosophical questions. He is a graduate of Loyola University and received his rabbinical ordination from Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore. Prior to moving to Israel he worked in anti-missionary activity and is the founder of Jews For Judaism. A world-renowned speaker, he is currently Senior Lecturer at Aish's Discovery, Essentials, and Fellowships Programs as well as at the Executive Learning Center. He lives with his family in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Rabbi Eric Coopersmith
Rabbi Eric Coopersmith is CEO of Aish International. He teaches a weekly class on the six constant mitzvos based on the teachings of Rav Noach Weinberg zt”l. Originally from Toronto, Eric received rabbinic ordination from Aish HaTorah and the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. In 1996 he became CEO, working closely with Rabbi Noah Weinberg zt"l to develop strategy and manpower for Aish International and the Jerusalem Yeshiva. He was formerly the North American director of the Discovery Seminars, and compiled Aish's kiruv primer, The Eye of a Needle. In addition to administrative duties, he is also a lecturer at Yeshiva Aish HaTorah and the Executive Learning Center.
